Certified by UEFA before the Euro2004 championship in Portugal it is home of the Portuguese Athletics Federation and to the Portuguese Olympic Committee. This training centre offers world class sporting facilities combined with very comfortable accommodation on site. It is integrated in a pleasant and calm environment ideal for football camp.
Not surprisingly the sports centre was chosen by Portugal´s Olympic Committee as the training base for the country´s main athletes where they can benefit from the finest facilities before entering in important competitions. A true stage of excellence prepared to host teams, athletes and sports events of any level.
Location
The Rio Maior area is part of a region known as 'Extremadura Ribatejana', the council situates itself in an area of transition where the influences of the Ribatejo and of the Coastline itself mix, giving rise to a original environment. In total includes an area of 277, 4 km2 with lower altitudes to 500m, save rare exceptions. Rio Maior is closely located to the centre of the country, only 80 km away from Lisbon and 30 km away from the mid-country largest city Santarém. It is part of West Tourism Board and administratively it is one of the councils of the District of Santarém.
Rio Maior is clearly in a zone of transition and mixed regional cultures, with “Ribatejanas” influences from the south and “Estremadurenhas” influences from the north. The North zone of the council integrates itself in the protected area of the Natural Park of Serra d´Aire and Candeeiros.

Accommodation
Accommodation for athletes is provided on site and is located right in the “heart” of the training centre. It is a purpose built facility and allows ready access to all of the training facilities and provides relaxing lounges and accommodation to a 4-star standard. There are 10 double rooms and 22 duplex apartments with 4 beds each, all this in an extremely comfortable environment, well maintained and with all the necessary services for sports athletes. Each room has Satellite TV.
